A Jan Eaton Square comes in today from the UK! /Make A Flag!

Hello Everyone!

Good morning! Thank you for visiting 'SIBOL' today!

First of all may I thank you all for the wonderful comments on the latest SIBOL. They are always very much appreciated. I think Number 68 has to be one of my favourite 'Sunshine Blankets'. I love them all, but I just love......the colours in this one.

Today I received a Jan Eaton Square from Joanna (UK). This Square is called 'Popcorn Corners' and it's Number 60 if you want to have a go. Joanna has made it beautifully and the colours are wonderful too! Thank you so much for taking part in this Challenge Joanna.

May I remind you all that your Jan Eaton Squares must be arriving before the end of June, so if you haven't already made your Square, can I jog your memory please?

Can I remind you also about our other Challenges. They are all over on the SIBOL CHALLENGE web site.

In particular I am very eager to start getting Squares in for the Olympic Challenge. I know this is a long way off but I am determined to get it bigger and better than the Royal Wedding Blanket 'if possible'.

If you are visiting our web site from another Country, which I know you are according to my revolving world in the side bar would you like to Knit or Crochet a Flag of your own Country? If your Country is taking part in the Olympic Games you are eligible to join in the fun here on SIBOL.

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
