Lots of SIBOL Goodies coming my way! (Part 1)

Good Morning,

I am in the process now of taking photos of what I received from Pippa yesterday. Pippa is one of our 'SIBOLETTES' and she lives near to me. I arranged to meet her yesterday at her home and I came back with three bags full of 'SIBOL' goodies.

I am first of all going to show you what she herself has made for 'SIBOL'.

'SIBOL' Butterflies for our Stash!
Aren't they gorgeous? I love the textured yarn. Pretty colours too Pippa. Thank you so much they are going to be great for our Blankets!

The Ladies over on RAVELRY have been making Roses. Pippa has very kindly made some for 'SIBOL'.

I have been sewing some on to our Blankets these will be very useful thank you Pippa.
The pattern is from
Nikki Trench ‘Cute and Easy’ book.

Pippa you have worked so hard, thank you very much. Please thank your Mother too for the ribbon she sent to me. If you remember Pippa's Mother 'Kate' is in Howarth House we visited recently.

But that wasn't all I received. Pippa has very kindly assembled two 'take a bags' for me. I'll be back as soon as I can with the Blankets and some also from Chalky!

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
