Make a Daffodil for SIBOL!

Good Morning to everyone visiting 'SIBOL' today!

As you know our  'SIBOL' Crocheting and Knitting Group have a Challenge running at the moment. We are at present collecting 6" Daffodil Squares for 'Marie Curie Cancer Care'. These Squares can be Crocheted or Knitted and they are to be made into Blankets which will be donated to the 9 Hospices up and down the Country.

I thought it appropriate as it is also St. David's Day to write a post once again asking if you would like to take part. Of course you know that people in Wales and those of Welsh origin celebrate the life of their patron saint, St. David and the Welsh culture on this day. Many people pin a daffodil or leek to their clothes and some, especially children wear traditional costumes.

I would like to thank 'The Wool Stop' for letting me know this morning that Lucy over on Attic 24 has put up a Daffodil tutorial and I'm wondering if you would like to have a go at her pattern and then   make a Square using it. It is a really pretty Daffodil, made in beautiful colours and the tutorial is very clear and easy to do. Here's the link.

We have received some beautiful Daffodil Squares already and if you would like to have a look at the Blankets we have already made here they are.

1/9 Assembled by myself.

4/9 Assembled by theemuts (RAV)

I have two SIBOLETTE's assembling Daffodil Blankets for me  so that would make 6.  So we still need Squares for another 3 Blankets. Then we can donate them to 'Marie Curie Cancer Care' Hospices up and down the Country. For more information about the work they do please follow the link. These Blankets are amazing thanks to everyone who has helped.

Please scroll down and view Blankets received from Lesley and the Sandiacre 'Knit 'n Natter' Group 'Rhuskdog' (RAV).

Have a good weekend everyone!

Thanks for visiting on this special day!
