Delivery day again!

Good Morning and welcome to the 'SIBOL' Blog.

I'm very pleased to be letting you know that I have now delivered all of our Sunshine Blankets for a while. In total we had 41 ready to be given out plus the Shawls.

Today I visited 'Willow Grange' Care Home in Olton with the remaining 22 Blankets and Shawls that you have kindly made.

Once again I was greeted by very friendly Staff and they were very pleased indeed to accept our Blankets and Shawls. It certainly was a lovely Home and I know that our Blankets will be very useful to them. As I explained not only are they a warm Blanket they will also be a talking point for many days to come. They loved the Shawls too and I have promised to go back in a few months time for some more for the Residents.

They would like to thank you all very much indeed.

As you know I won't be accepting any Blankets for a few weeks as I'm having my Kitchen installed. I'm really pleased that we have managed to make this amount of Blankets since Christmas and there is nothing to stop you picking up your Knitting Needles and Crocheting Hooks and making more if you want to. I will advise you when I am ready to accept again if that's okay. You can also email me if you want to ask me anything.

That's great Sue. I'm sure they're all still showing off their new blankets and shawls to each other. :)

are making and donating Sunshine Blankets

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Please Note.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
